Whats Next?

Whats on the calendar coming up? Well I personally am headed South. Pretty far south in fact. South Carolina and Georgia are on my schedule next week. As well as every state between here and there. So if you follow us on Twitter of Instagram (And you should). You will see updates from the road. I am also bringing along some pretty sweet gear. New sunglasses from Kaenon, audio equipment from SkullCandy and more. Its transition time for us here at SC.

Last Trip, North

Last trip north this weekend. Hopefully going to get a day and night of riding in. Not sure what I’m going to ride yet. The weather hasn’t really been helping me out lately. The death storm that hit a lot of the Mid West slid right below us, so we are still sitting on massive crust. And the forecast is calling for rain. I hate Spring.

World Snowboard Tour Crowns Champions In Aspen

Under killer conditions in Vail, Colorado Kelly Clark and 14-year-old sensation Ayumu Hirano won the World Snowboard Tour Halfpipe Championship titles. Kelly and Ayumu have been the most dominant riders all season and made the podium at every stop they entered. Hirano is the youngest rider ever to win the World Snowboard Tour title.

‘’I am very happy, to win this, but hope to ride many more World Snowboard Tour contests to come.’’ -Hirano

Ayumu came in second at X Games and at the Burton US Open highlighted by a huge Frontside 1080 Tail grab and a  Frontside 1080 Double Cork Indy Grab amoungst others

Kelly cemented the win with her first run which consisted of A Frontside 1080 Indy Grab into a Cab 720 Mute followed by a Lien Air, Backside 540 Mute Fronside 720 Stalefish grab
This was Kelly’s 3rd World Snowboard Tour title, and her second consecutive in the Halfpipe.

‘’It is always a great feeling to be awarded, even if it is the 61st time… All the girls riding pipe, like Hannah and Arielle and I today, will continue to push the sport. It’s great to be the Halfpipe champion, I didn’t win all the contests this year but I won the right ones and it was enough to get me the title.” – Kelly

Sarka Pancochova took the World Snowboard Tour Overall and Slopestyle titles home. Sarka is one of only a few female competitors that ride both Slopestyle and Pipe.

’’I have been working really hard this season, training and competing, it’s the best reward to be the World’s top woman overall snowboarder, then all the hard work pays off!’’ -Pancochova

Mark McMorris did more that win the World Snowboard Tour Slopestyle title. He dominated all season long, winning both X Games and the Burton US Open. Mark McMorris is the unquestioned King of slopestyle right now.

”I didn’t know that I won the Tour Championship until I was told in the interview straight after the final, but it’s a real honor to get this award, it means you’re consistent over the season and that gives confidence. I am happy!” -McMorris

Congratulations to all the riders on a fantastic season.

So to satiate any need you may have here is a sneek peek at a sweet new piece of merch hitting our store this week. What is it? You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out. But here are a few hints. They are made of wood, it involves lasers and they are individually customizable. We have sent some out to friends of SC and they are stoked.

More days snowboarding. In my neck of the woods we have an amazing ZERO inches of snow after temps in the mid 50s. That will all change in the next 48 hours with a foot of fresh snow forecaster.

Lets Play Guess The Season!

Seriously? I came back from inches of fresh snowfall per hour for this? What a difference a two hour drive makes.
